David Miedinger (Lucern, Basel and Montreal)

Oasys is working with the Swiss clinician David Miedinger and two of his research students, Chria and Bao. 

David's background is internal and respiratory medicine and he worked in Montréal with the internationally-recognised asthma experts Jean-Luc Malo and Catherine Lemière before moving back to Switzerland.

David is currently developing an electronic peak flow diary that is running on mobile phones and can be used for asthma, and especially occupational asthma, diagnosis. The current idea is to allow the free use of the software for investigation of asthma and research purposes.”

Electronic PEF recording is already available. The new mobile applications, however, are revolutionary in their interactivity, allowing manual and electronic entering of PEF data whilst on the go. Not only that, but the project plans to be further enhanced by adding alarm functions and some additional functionality for exposure recording.

The mobile phone application can automatically download readings from the AM+1 meter and can upload in to Oasys.
