waterprrofing sprays containing PTFE have caused a wide range of mostly interstitial lung diseases, often following single exposures, but sometimes with features suggesting EAA. I believe that scotchguard contains a flurinated hydrocarbon similar to PTFE (perfluorobutanesulfonic acid). Fabricoat (at least according to a MSDS available on the net) contain an acrylate, a possible cause of occupational asthma. It would be best to get the MSDS's for the actual products used
