Occupational asthma from diesel exhaust, an example of low dose irritant induced asthma?
3 bus garage workers with long-term exposure to indoor diesel exhaust developed work-related astha after a latent period. Is this an example of low-dose irritant induced asthma with latency, or occupational asthma due to sensitisation? Does the mechanism make any difference? These workers remained asthmatic after removal from exposure.
