Abstract
This paper discusses criteria for the primary and secondary prevention of occupational asthma. The former involves intervention in the workplace to prevent onset of the disease, while the latter is based on early diagnosis. These forms of prevention are applied in this study, particularly to work involving laboratory animals, the use of latex gloves, wheat flour, proteolytic enzymes and simple chemical compounds (isocyanates).
