Acrylate occupational asthma has features suggesting an IgE-type reaction |
|
Acrylates are a fairly common cause of occupational asthma in beauticians, dental workers, orthopaedic theatre staff and workers using acrylate adhesives and moulding materials. Their occupational asthma has the features of an IgE-type reaction with raised FeNO and more rhinitis than isocyanate asthma. As far as I know there are no successful studies identifying specific IgE to acrylates. This is is a fruitful result from European centres collaborating with specific inhalation challenges in workers with occupational asthma.
