Error before backing up personal details file

If you can connect to the Oasys Server it should always be possible to backup your personal details file (as long as you have one). However there may well be unforseen circumstances where this does not happen. The following error message can be returned by the Oasys client. If you see this please get in touch using the "Contact" link at the bottom of the page or by posting a message on the forum.

If this error does occur we will update this page as people contact us and we discover more about what can happen, why it happens and what we can do about it.

Cannot open the personal details file, unable to backup ...

If the Oasys client cannot access your personal details file it will not be able to back it up. Go to "Edit - Options" from the main menu. Click on the "Internet" tab. Check that the "File to store personal information" box is pointing to a file that you can access.
