Respiratory problems from lanoline

Ian Coutts has a farmer who sprays cows udders with a lanoline mixture before milking. Has anybody seen any respiratory problems with lanoline?
Occupational Asthma, Specialist, 2/20/2006, 2/20/2006,

I have no record of lanoline causing occupational asthma. There is a literature on sheeps wool carders and spinners, but nothing on lanoline. I wonder whether the spray contains a biocide, which I think is a more likely cause of the problem.

Organophosphates are designed to penetrate to the fat of sheep, which is the lanolin. Could the OP's in the lanolin be the cause of the asthma?

I wonder whether there is a biocide in the spray. Many are causes of occupational asthma including formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, isothiozolinones, benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine, chloramin-T and chlorine-nitrogen componds such as nitrogen trichloride. Benzalkonium chloride (quaternary ammonium compounds) are thought to contribute to respiratory problems in pig sheds (swine confinement houses)
