Latex is quite a common cause of occupational asthma, the most common sources are from disposable gloves, baloons and condoms. The content of latex in car tyres is varable and often small, but latex allergen can be foung in samples of road dirt. Vehicle exhaust, particularly from diesel engines, is a more common cause of asthma.
