Litigation information for Metal working fluid

I'm going through litigating at present after 3 1/2 years since my accident 7/2001 & 10 hours exposure to contaminated water soluble machine coolant containing formaldehyde, cobalt, swarf etc.
Do any of the experts in this panel especially Dr Burge (my consultant at Southampton Hospital has often spoken) of this gentleman as their both in the same field.
I need recent information from anyone with the same problem my barrister hasn't had much to do in this line of compensation and any advice would be gratefully appreciated it might even prevent further accidents like this happening in the future through dirty housekeeping in most UK factories, surely I cant be the only person to suffer from greatly reduced lung function from now banned substances.
Need a reply asap!
Occupational Asthma, Worker, 2/20/2006, 2/20/2006,

Asthma induced by a single large exposure to an irritant is something different to standard occupational asthma (when a worker becomes allergic to something at work). Allergy can occur after a single exposure, but is definately rare.
Acute irritant induced asthma should start immediatly after a large exposure to almonst anything irritant (fires, chlorine and chemical spills are particularly common); it should last for at least 3 months to be classed as stardard irritant induced asthma, there should have been no pre-existing asthma. Once the asthma has developed low level exposure to the same agents should cause no problem (unlike allergic asthma). The asthma can however be triggered by the usual things that make most asthmatics worse, such as exercise, cold air, respiratory infections etc.
Your story sounds more like acute irritant induced asthma. Both cobalt and metal-working fluid exposure can cause sensitisation and standard occupational asthma; formaldehyde is also a less common cause of this. Most workers with standard occupational asthma are exposed to the same agent for some time (weeks, months or years) without problems before sensitisation occurs.
