Analysing serial spirometry other than PEF
I am planning a small study with EasyOne hand-held spirometers used five times per day for a three week period and have reviewed a lot of literature on the OASYS software including the links on your website. From my reading it does not look like OASYS is reliable for other spirometry measurements (such as FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC ratios, etc.). What software would you use to analyze measurements other than peak flow? I would like to compare the OASYS peak flow trend analysis to FEV1 trends.
Thank you so much for your help with this matter.

We have a research version of Oasys which handles FEV1 measurements and most others from the EasyOne spirometer. We would be happy to collaborate with you and provide the necessary plots. In our experience measuring the FEV1 usually introduces more noise and makes the interpretation more difficult than with peak expiratory flow (PEF). The EasyOne may be the answer if you use its full quality control features at the time of measurement. The interpretation using FEV1 rather than PEF is not validated, but we can provide plots, day interpretation, and differences between work and rest days. As with PEF we need to know each day the time of waking and sleeping, and the time of starting and stopping work. If there is more than one type of work exposure we need to know about this too.
