Occupational asthma from cardboard boxes?
We have seen several workers with symptomatic occupational asthma with positive peak flow records who make up cardboard boxes. We have not found the specific cause from challenge tests, but are unsure whether we have reproduced to work exposures. There is now a case report of a worker making up cardboard boxes who has lipid in the bronchial mucosa and macrophages with the authors postulates comes from the glue used on the boxes.
