Occupational asthma from 2pack paint fumes

what are the side of inhaling 2pack paint fumes through work

Two-pack paints often contain an isocyanate as the activator, which needs mixing with the resin just before it is used. If your paint contains an isocyanate (or isocyanate prepolymer or polyisocyanate); the most common problem is occupational asthma. Despite this only a small proportion of spray painters get occupational asthma, as it is an allergy rather than a toxic reaction (just like many people breath in grass pollen, but only some have hay fever). In many countries isocyanates are the commonest cause of occupational asthma and spray painters the commonest group who get isocyanate asthma. Spraying (and mixing) isocyanate paint should be done wearing full breathing apparatus in a place where others cannot be exposed (a fully enclosed spray booth). You should have regular checks if you are working with isocyanate spray paints. If you think you are getting asthma, see you occupational doctor, and start keeping peak flow records (see the I'm confused section).
